Polaris Industries: Maker of Leisure Equipment Vehicles

One of the best known leisure equipment makers in the United States is Polaris Industries. The company is a trusted name in ATV, snowmobiles and neighborhood electric vehicles. Headquartered in Medina, Minnesota, the company started its operations in 1954. It also used to manufacture watercraft until the early 2000s.

Polaris Industries is one of those companies that strongly advocate the manufacturing of products onshore. The majority of their offerings is produced in the America. Only their sport vehicle assembly and a portion of its utilities were moved to Mexico in the early part of 2010. Their products are manufactured in their facilities in Wisconsin, Iowa and in Minnesota.

From their snowmobile, Polaris Industries has further expanded their offerings to include motorized vehicles. They also have their own motorcycles which are offered through its subsidiaries Victory Motorcyles ad the Indian Motorcycle. These companies were recently acquired in 2011.
