Marco Bitran leads the Boston financial-services technology firm
AI Exchange, Inc., which operates the subsidiaries Al Exchange Technologies and
Al Advisors. The former entity is developing disruptive web-based systems
designed that connect investor advisor markets with the alternative investment
sphere. In particular, the technology features unprecedented transparency and
liquidity, allowing wealth managers to offer their clients quality long and
short trading strategies.
Al Advisors manages the platform developed by Mr. Bitran’s
enterprise, structuring alternative strategies through accounts held by a
diversity of unified-account and separately managed-account custodians.
Benefiting from reasonable minimums, clients maintain custody over assets
managed within the Al Advisors platform.
Marco Bitran gained initial fund management experience with Wellington
Management Company. From 2003 to 2006, he directed a $1 billion global-equity
fund that focused on capital goods, infrastructure, and machinery industries.
He next co-founded Clearstream Investments, LLC, guiding the growth of the
exchange-traded funds capital management firm as Portfolio Manager. The company
notably employed a proprietary quantitative approach in identifying global
market price discrepancies. Mr. Bitran’s endeavors with the firm helped boost
Clearstream Investments’ total managed assets to the $550 million range.
Over the past year-and-a-half, Marco Bitran and his executive
team have been successful in positioning AI Exchange as a well-capitalized
startup firm. The company earned distinction early in 2011 as winner of the
Harvard Business School’s New England Regional Round of the Alumni Venture
Contest. In September, Mr. Bitran’s firm achieved $1.5 million in capital
funding from General Catalyst, CommonAngels, and other venture financing
partners.
