Alfred Dunhill: Making Fashionable Bespoke Wear

London is known for one thing in the fashion industry: bespoke, something that luxury goods brand Alfred Dunhill specializes in. Alfred Dunhill started the company from his father's saddlery business, turning it into a shop that made accessories for vehicles such as leather overcoats, car horns, goggles, timepieces and the like. Dunhill then proceeded to open a tobacco shop, later turned into a pipe shop in 1907. Still based in London, the company makes bespoke menswear, ready to wear clothing, perfumes, leather products and fashion accessories, and is owned by Richemont.

Alfred Dunhill has several retail stores known as Alfred Dunhill “Homes” in London, Shanghai, Hong Kong and Tokyo, establishing the brand as a luxury name. These “Homes” provide tailoring services, barbers, wine cellars, bars and restaurants, spas and screening rooms. Alfred Dunhill is known for having provided the accessories for several James Bond movies, and the company was behind the campaign called the “Voice” to recognize British men who have contributed greatly to society. The company's most popular products to date have been their lighters.
