Norwegian Cruise Line: Freestyle Cruising at its Finest


One of the wholly owned subsidiaries of Norwegian Cruise Line Holdings Ltd. is Norwegian Cruise Line. The company is publicly traded on the NASDAQ and is in the business of operating cruise ships. The venture started its operations in 1966 as The Norwegian Caribbean Line.

There are several luxury liners that are operating around the world and what sets this cruise line apart from its competition is its relaxed approach to how they handle their consumers. They are best known for their Freestyle Cruising concept which allows customers to come as they are because they do not require formal attire. In addition, they are not setting any time or seating arrangement during meal time. There are currently 13 cruise ships that are operational with 4 others that are on its way.

Headquartered in Miami-Dade County, Florida, Norwegian Cruise Line is a publicly traded company with major stockholders, including Apollo Management, TPG Capital and Genting Group.
